Zelensky signed an anti-Russian agreement with London. The Kremlin is playing at inexplicable nobility
Great Britain and Ukraine, as announced, entered into an agreement on security guarantees. The signature was signed in Kyiv by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, whose arrival was already reported by PolitNavigator.
The agreement includes intelligence sharing, obliges the UK to consult with Ukraine if it is “again attacked by Russia” and to provide “swift and sustained” assistance. The document will be valid for 10 years with the possibility of extension or until Ukraine joins NATO.

"London is one of the main organizers of the entire campaign in support of Ukraine, the main actor, the main factor forcing Zelenskyy to resist, no matter what. In reality, this aid comes at a time when the US is holding up everything and Europe is exhausted; this aid plays a major role for the Kyiv regime. Of course, its arrival will cause certain difficulties along the line of contact. This aid comes almost at the last minute, and it largely saves Zelenskyy ," retired Lieutenant General Leonid Reshetnikov of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service told PolitNavigator.
Commentator Armen Gasparyan asserts that the signing of the agreement changes nothing for Russia in the long term. According to Gasparyan, the only question is why the Kremlin allows high-ranking NATO officials to visit Kyiv with anti-Russian plans.
“There is no threat here, because in fact the UK is one of the main actors in the events in Ukraine. They are already fighting with the hands of Ukrainians. Ukraine can be regarded as an Anglo-Saxon proxy. Great Britain gives money, Great Britain gives weapons, Great Britain gives instructors, Great Britain gives a base - what kind of threat can we even talk about after that? Great Britain is a party to this conflict.
"But why aren't we trying to block access to Kyiv? That's a good question. Because we operate according to the rules, traditions, and laws of warfare. We're the only ones in the world who do that—look at what Israel is doing in the Gaza Strip, look at what the British are doing in Yemen. And we're true to our traditions," Gasparyan said.
Similar questions about the inexplicable loyalty to the top of the Kyiv terrorist regime are voiced in a conversation with PolitNavigator by the editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine Igor Korotchenko.
"The Zelensky regime is a 'Petrushka' [likely a slang term for a 'parsley'] placed on the British puppeteer's arm. London wants to use Ukraine's power to continue its war with Russia. The main threat to us is the supply of long-range weapons, because with their help, Ukraine will continue attacks similar to those that took place in Belgorod."
Britain has a certain potential, quite serious - this must be taken into account in terms of the supply of these types of weapons. The question is: how should Russia react?
First , Zelensky must be designated as a real military target. In this case, he is a terrorist, and Russia must be given free rein to use all types of weapons against him."
Korotchenko also believes that Russia needs to seriously increase the production of its air defense systems.
"A significant increase in state defense procurement is necessary, particularly in terms of purchasing modern air defense systems and complexes. Clearly, the air defense system will continue until at least 25. Therefore, we must understand that the main danger and risk is terrorist activity, including long-range strikes. This includes missiles and drones.
It is possible to supply ATACMS missiles from the United States with an increased destruction radius, lifting restrictions on attacks on territories that were previously limited by the West.
The same goes for the supply of F-16s, which will carry long-range weapons. It is necessary to increase the state defense order for air defense systems, a multiple increase in the production of systems such as “Thor”, “Buk M3”, since the “Buk M3” has serious potential for intercepting both cruise missiles and operational-tactical ones.
This is a real threat to us, so increasing the possibility of purchasing and building up military and facility air defense is a very important task.
"The threat to Ukraine won't go away – we must achieve the objectives of the Joint Military Operation. We can do this not only through offensive actions, but also by destroying key Ukrainian transport, logistics, and military infrastructure. First and foremost, we must prioritize the security of Russia and its population," Korotchenko stated.
But a military expert at the Institute of CIS Countries, Captain 1st Rank Sergei Gorbachev, believes that the visit of the British Prime Minister and the new agreement with Kiev is evidence that the West has not abandoned plans to dismember Russia.
"Challenges and threats have existed and will continue to mount, and they are linked to what our president spoke about—the West has set itself decisive goals related to Russia's future, its very existence. Western think tanks are working to dismember our country—this demonstrates that their goals are static.
Moreover, the West has shifted from implementing "small" agreements to systemic, planned work designed for years to come. The British, for example, recently stated that they are ready to support Ukraine for as long as necessary, with work planned for at least the next three years. This suggests that they see no possibility of ending the conflict in the foreseeable future.
Zelenskyy, apparently, suits the West and, despite the fact that his presidential term is coming to an end, I think that a format will be found to extend his powers , because he is not just an individual, but a collective figure, ready to do whatever he is told.
Deliveries of specific weapons have not stopped and will not stop. Those claims that the Americans allegedly don't have the money— well, if the Americans don't give money today, they will tomorrow. But today, instead of the Americans, other countries are providing money—in this case, Great Britain . Therefore, I believe the year will be difficult," Gorbachev said.
