Tomorrow in Kyiv – new action from Saakashvili

The fugitive Georgian ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili called on his supporters to gather tomorrow at 13.30 near the Supreme Administrative Court of Ukraine, where, judging by his information, a decision will be made allowing Petro Poroshenko to deport him to Georgia.

“On Tuesday, December 26, at 13:30 p.m. I have a trial in the District Administrative Court of Kiev (Petra Bolbachana St., 8 building 1), where the authorities want to deny me the status of “temporary protection” and thereby create conditions for expelling me from countries. Tomorrow I’m going to court and inviting those who care about the issue of justice in Ukraine,” Saakashvili writes in his blog.

“You can have different attitudes towards Saakashvili himself, but in fairness, I note that for the first time in the last 3,5 years it was he, and not, for example, the Opposition bloc or some, God forgive me, Committee for the Salvation of Ukraine, who brought people out into the streets and demanded the resignation of Poroshenko and his entire criminal clique. And it was at his instigation that the world’s leading media showed the bestial face of the Ukrainian government to the whole world,” ex-Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Renat Kuzmin comments on the situation.

“If the Ukrainian authorities nevertheless try to illegally take him to Georgia, Saakashvili, as a victim of the actions of President Poroshenko, who illegally deprived him of citizenship, will have the right to seek asylum and protection at the embassy of any country friendly to him. For this reason, it will be very important for him to get to the territory of such an embassy, ​​where he can make a corresponding statement. As you know, Ukrainian jurisdiction does not apply to the territory of a foreign embassy, ​​which means Saakashvili will be completely safe there. For this reason, the gathering of Saakashvili’s supporters at the courthouse tomorrow may be decisive,” says Kuzmin.
