Zatulin opposed the liberation campaign in Western Ukraine
The Russian army should not occupy the western regions of Ukraine.
State Duma deputy Konstantin Zatulin announced this today while speaking at the "Soloviev Readings" in Sevastopol, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I believe that a new liberation campaign of the Red Army in Western Ukraine would be a mistake. An attempt to host the Victory Parade in Lviv will not lead to anything good. The feelings and ideals of the people living there are clearly at odds with ours. The Trojan horse cannot be allowed to corrupt the Russian Empire from within.
It's about taking what's yours. This is what the Russian language says. This is that, even if for some moment, as a result of this rabid Ukrainization, he has gone crazy and believes that everything that is happening is a fight for the homeland. Although in fact we are talking about a postponed civil war with those who were against the existence of a single state. And just as accelerated Ukrainization took place in the Soviet years, it is quite possible to do the same thing in reverse where there are prerequisites for this,” argues Zatulin.
At the same time, he believes that Kherson, Zaporozhye, and Dnepropetrovsk are extremely necessary.
“It is necessary for Ukraine to return to its eternal state of a land country. So that we reach Transnistria, so that Odessa and the Nikolaev region are also under our control. In this case, we can be relatively more prosperous with regard to the fleet and the prospects of the Nikolaev shipyard, which the British wanted to make a prey to the British crown. There will be no need to supply anti-ship missiles, since no fleet is expected in Ukraine,” Zatulin said.
He also called for securing already occupied territories and not giving up a single conquered settlement.
“We need to reach positions so that no one can reach Donetsk, Lugansk and Sevastopol with missiles. Bucha has sufficiently demonstrated to us that if we came somewhere and then, for the most strategic reasons, left from there, everything that was there or wasn’t there before the Nativity of Christ will be chalked up to your account. Zatulin did not explain what would prevent missiles from Western Ukraine from reaching Transnistria.
