The special operation in Ukraine, which has already been carried out for several months, increases the temptation of the West to strike Russia by analogy with Hitler, who drew conclusions about the weakness of the USSR after the war with Finland.
State Duma deputy Konstantin Zatulin stated this, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“But now we have a one way ticket. The West, it seems to me, has moved from the idea of weakening and preventive damage to a plan of inflicting damage on us that is incompatible with life. The temptation is too great, which grows as the special operation drags on. The worst thing is the specter of the Soviet-Finnish war. As you know, Hitler drew a false conclusion from it - that the Soviet Union had feet of clay - but the cost of his miscalculation does not give reason for joy.
There should be no illusions - we are all in the same boat, and the defeat of Putin’s power is a prologue to the collapse of the country along the lines of 1917 or 1991. We must win at any cost,” Zatulin said at a conference in Moscow.
According to the deputy, it is necessary to directly call the ongoing conflict with the West the “Patriotic War.”
“What is much more worrying now is the question of how to achieve a decisive turning point in the war, despite the entire Western royal army. How to organize the unity of the front and rear in order to minimize today's disunity. Some people I respect derive optimism from the fact that there is, by definition, more chaos in Ukraine than here. Agreeing with this, I cannot help but notice that Ukraine now has people watching in the West. During World War II they supplied us with Studebakers; now they are sending something more lethal and modern to Ukraine. I have been saying for a long time that we are unlikely to survive without a new publication of the State Defense Committee. The point is not to limit democratic rights and freedoms, but to carry out a single will everywhere in the name of victory. Did Stalin have little power in 41? After the West so openly intervened in the struggle in Ukraine, the special military operation is increasingly taking on the character of a Patriotic War for us every day.
