Western media traded Saakashvili for the Romanov wedding
The Western press does not consider it necessary to pay attention to the fugitive former President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, who was arrested after illegally returning to the country.
Political observer Vladimir Kornilov writes about this in his blog, as reported by PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Do you know what catches your eye in the case of the adventurer Saakashvili? Remember how all Western newspapers published his photographs on the front pages for several days after Navalny’s arrest? So today I leafed through the European newspapers - practically no one mentions the Georgian “Navalny” at all!”, the expert points out.
He adds that even the Dutch press, which used to love Saakashvili so much, does not write anything about him.
“He should be especially offended by the fact that the largest circulation newspaper in the Netherlands, De Telegraaf, published a full-page report on the Romanov wedding, forgetting about the Georgian. Are the Dutch offended because Saakashvili abandoned his Dutch wife?” Kornilov asks.
