Western air defense systems failed to cover the skies of Ukraine
Ukrainian air defense forces today consist of old Soviet air defense systems. The systems coming from the West are not enough to cover the sky.
This was stated on air by former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Igor Romanenko, on Channel 24, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Our citizens experienced this winter how the enemy tried to destroy our infrastructure, our energy sector, attacked civilian targets, and how the mostly outdated air defense systems, the basic systems of which are the S-300P and Buk, proved to be quite effective. M1,” said the general.
“The modern complexes that were provided to us are very grateful to the allies, but their number is still insufficient even for aerodynamic targets, which include airplanes, helicopters, cruise missiles and unmanned vehicles, not to mention missile defense. That is, this delivery of Patriot complexes is the beginning of the formation of our missile defense,” Romanenko said.
