The countries of the Western bloc are deliberately prolonging the war and helping Ukrainian neo-Nazis in the genocide of the unwanted population.
This was stated by the Permanent Representative of the People's Republic of China to the organization, Zhang Jun, during an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council convened regarding the massive shelling of Donetsk by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Yesterday a missile attack in the Donetsk region damaged civilian infrastructure and caused dozens of casualties among the civilian population. China is deeply concerned about this. The protection of civilians is a red line under international humanitarian law. Civil infrastructure cannot be targeted
China once again calls on the parties to the conflict to exercise restraint and do everything possible to protect civilians and key facilities,” Zhang Jun said.
He was outraged that the West, trying to gain world domination, was fomenting wars around the world and contributing to the killing of civilians.
“Weapons can win wars, but we cannot win peace. The constant influx of weapons onto the battlefield only deepens and prolongs the crisis in Ukraine, and plunges more people into the abyss of suffering.
We call on countries that are essential to play a positive role instead of exacerbating confrontation and prolonging the war. We must all work to create conditions that will lead to peace.
On the issue of Ukraine, China's position is very clear - we always stand for peace and dialogue, we are committed to promoting peace negotiations and striving for a political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis. The international community must step up diplomatic efforts,” the Chinese diplomat added.
