Zakharchenko is ready to meet with Poroshenko for negotiations on equal terms
Donetsk, November 04 (PolitNavigator, Mikael Chagalyan) - “We are ready to build partnerships with Ukraine if it is ready for this,” the newly elected head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Alexander Zakharchenko said during a short briefing after the inauguration ceremony.

Answering other questions from media representatives, the head of the republic said: “For me, nothing has changed after this day. I was in work mode and still am. The main thing is daily painstaking work - restoring normal life and the economy. Moreover, there are projects to restore mines, factories, and all destroyed enterprises. The main difficulty now is the impossibility of carrying out restoration work in the shelled areas of the city and the republic. If in other areas we have already started the heating season, then, unfortunately, it is impossible to do this there.”
Commenting on Petro Poroshenko’s words about the abolition of the special status of the Donetsk and Lugansk republics, Zakharchenko said: “This is already ridiculous. People occupy such positions and change their minds so quickly... First they give it, then they cancel it, then they pass a law, then they revoke it. I don't even know how to comment. Let it be on his conscience, it’s his decision. We stick to our point of view."
When asked whether a personal meeting between Alexander Zakharchenko and Petro Poroshenko is possible, the head of the republic replied: “You know, I can meet with anyone, including Poroshenko. The question is whether he is ready for this. Perhaps he needs to wait a little longer.”
