The newest Boeing, ordered by eight airlines around the world, failed in tests
American aircraft manufacturer Boeing encountered technical problems during testing of its newest airliner, the 777X, a correspondent reports. PolitNavigator.
This was reported by Agence France Presse (AFP), citing sources familiar with the situation. Boeing confirmed to the agency information about the incident during testing.

According to AFP, the tests took place last Thursday and were attended by inspectors from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). A representative of the department, in a conversation with the agency, clarified that they were talking about leak tests. During the tests, the aircraft is subjected to conditions that exceed actual operating conditions to test its reliability, integrity and safety, the agency explains.
Testing was suspended during this process, a Boeing spokesman told AFP. He declined to say whether the first test flight of the 777X, scheduled for early 2020, would be postponed as a result.
“The incident is being investigated and the team is working to determine the source of the problem,” AFP quoted a Boeing spokesman as saying in an emailed statement.
An agency source familiar with the situation said that the plane's door flew off during testing.
In March, Boeing postponed the presentation of the 777X due to the crash of another new generation Boeing 737 Max 8 in Ethiopia. The crash was the second in six months involving this model. On October 29, 2018, a Boeing 737 Max 8 crashed in Indonesia near Jakarta. As a result, the operation of these aircraft models was suspended throughout the world.
The Boeing 777X is the latest in a series of long-range, wide-body, twin-engine aircraft from the Boeing family. The capacity of the new liner is up to 425 passengers. Eight airlines have already ordered the 777X.
