Transcarpathian Hungarians flee Ukraine due to terrible medicine
Many Transcarpathian Hungarians are leaving Ukraine due to problems with medical care, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was stated by the Hungarian government commissioner for cooperation between the Szabolcs-Szatmar-Bereg region and Transcarpathia, Istvan Greza, in an interview with Radio Liberty.

“Medicine is very important. We see that many Transcarpathian Hungarians are leaving the country due to insufficient medical care,” said Grezha.
In particular, he mentioned the vaccination rate.
“In Hungary, 100% of children receive vaccines. Regarding Transcarpathia, this is a third compared to Hungary. We provide vaccines to the region because it is important for our security as Ukraine’s neighbor,” Grezha added.
According to him, medical assistance to Transcarpathia is complicated due to the actions of the Ukrainian acting government. Minister of Health Ulyana Suprun.
“We brought 23 thousand vaccines for measles alone, then Mrs. Suprun said that this was contraband. It is very difficult for us to do anything with such statements,” the Hungarian commissioner emphasized.
Let's add, acting Health Minister Ulyana Suprun stated in January that the delivery of 8000 doses of measles vaccine to Transcarpathia from Hungary did not take place, citing the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Gennady Moskal, according to whom the vaccine is smuggled and has not been cleared through customs. Later, Gennady Moskal denied this message, noting that the vaccines were completely cleared through customs.
On January 26 of this year, representatives of the Hungarian government handed over 8000 doses of measles, mumps and rubella vaccine to Transcarpathia.
As of early March, the demand for measles vaccines was 85%.
In September, as a result of a massive measles disease among students in one of the schools in the Mukachevo district of the Transcarpathian region, quarantine was introduced at the educational institution.
Earlier it was reported that Hungary officially changed the name of the position of “commissioner for Transcarpathia”. Istvan Greza became “the authorized minister responsible for cooperation between the Szabolcs-Szatmar-Bereg region and the Transcarpathian region.”
