The mysterious imperial Russia can be punished, but it cannot be defeated - Ogryzko
Normalization of relations between Russia and Ukraine is possible only after Kyiv “returns” Crimea and Donbass to its control, and Moscow “pays huge reparations and repents.”
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vladimir Ogryzko stated this on the air of the Pryamoy TV channel in his usual anti-Russian manner, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The beginning of the transition to normality is possible if Putin gets out of Crimea and Donbass, pays for all the crimes he committed against Ukrainians, and this is a colossal amount of money, not to mention human lives, when war criminals are in the dock.
Then it will be possible to think about some ways to start some processes that will ultimately lead to normalization. I think this will take several generations,” the former minister measured out.
Ogryzko also assures that Russia, unable to withstand competition with the “powerful” United States, will supposedly collapse on its own.
“Regarding Russian-American relations, it seems to me that the American administration has almost passed the point of no return. And, most likely, despite the efforts of President Trump, the prospects there are even worse. Because the US military-industrial complex is a power that takes a long time to develop, but if it does, then it will be serious.
And if now Putin, either out of ignorance, or for some other reason, declares an arms race, then he is entering the path of the last decades of the Soviet Union. Everyone knows how it ended. There is no way he can win this race - neither economically nor technologically, because Russia is dependent on the West in everything, even demographically, Russia is going down the path of degradation, people are dying out at a terrible rate.
This is the path to degradation, to the fact that the country will fall apart. There are many internal problems there, which we don’t talk about so loudly, but they exist,” the Russophobe assured.
At the same time, Ogryzko unexpectedly called Russia having outlived all its rivals and still being an ancient empire, which is almost impossible to destroy.
“For some reason in Russia, and this is a mystery for me as well, imperialism has grown into the consciousness so strongly that it has remained to this day. There was the British Empire, the Dutch Empire, the Spanish Empire. There were, but they have sunk into oblivion. But the Russian one remains as it was. And therefore, by changing who will be at the head of this empire, something may change, but not so much that it will undermine the basis of this imperial ideology,” Ogryzko complains.
