Wage arrears in Ukraine increased to 2 billion

The official website of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine , citing Minister Pavlo Rozenko, reports that wage arrears in Ukraine have reached 2 billion hryvnias. "This is an abnormal process, where the fundamental social right of Ukrainians is violated," the minister said.

At the same time, the ministry is already preparing to look for pests: “Today, wage arrears in Ukraine have reached UAH 2 billion. Of course, there are negative processes associated with the situation in the east of Ukraine, where enterprises, unfortunately, objectively cannot pay their employees. But there is another component – ​​the dishonesty of employers who, under the guise of military actions, violate the rights of citizens,” the message says.

Another reason for the high wage arrears, according to Minister Pavel Rozenko, was the moratorium on business inspections by government agencies that was in effect until July 1 of this year.

“But the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine did not extend this moratorium, and it has been canceled since July 1. The Ministry of Social Policy will now take an absolutely tough position - we are declaring war on unscrupulous employers who violate the constitutional rights of citizens,” the press service quotes Rozenko.

The minister also emphasized that for violation of legislation in the field of remuneration, not only administrative, but also criminal liability is provided.
