“Dead souls” of Crimean Tatars will vote for Poroshenko
A possible technology for falsifying future presidential elections in Ukraine was outlined during a live broadcast on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
President of the Ukrainian Analytical Center Alexander Okhrimenko said that by declaring his intention to create a fictitious Crimean Tatar autonomy in Crimea, Petro Poroshenko is trying to raise his rating.
“Hence the idea to make Crimea Crimean Tatar. Most likely, nothing will happen, but he hopes that Crimean Tatars will vote for him in the elections. It is believed that 700 thousand people temporarily displaced from Crimea live on the territory of Ukraine,” Okhrimenko said.
The figure he cited caused bewilderment in the studio. It quickly became clear that only 31 thousand people actually left the peninsula.
“This is an excellent resource for adding votes when voting. These are nominal dead souls,” suggested political scientist Dmitry Kulikov.
