“South-East of Ukraine – break off, close the embassy in Moscow!”
The territory of the South-East of Ukraine remaining under the control of Kyiv should naturally “break away” and form an analogue of the “UNR”, so revered by Kyiv politicians, with its capital in Kharkov, Odessa or Donetsk. Semyon Bagdasarov, director of the Center for the Study of the Middle East and Central Asia, stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"All these Bolsheviks and others who cobbled together all these states on the body of the Russian Empire laid a huge mine under it all. This is an artificial, unnatural formation. Therefore, naturally, this territory ( Southeastern Ukraine – ed. ) should secede and form its own Ukrainian People's Republic, as it was before 1918, with its capital in Kharkiv, Odessa, Donetsk, anywhere, and we must strive for this!" the expert declared.
At the same time, in his opinion, Moscow needs to immediately sever diplomatic and trade ties with Kiev.
"This is absurd! They ( the Maidan authorities – ed. ) are killing our people, burning them in Odessa, and yet we have an embassy there! And their embassy is here! We don't disown them, we trade with them.
I'm not against business, I understand its interests. But if the interests of business conflict with national security, we must choose national security and hold private business by the throat,” added Semyon Bagdasarov.
