Yaroslav Fedoseev: Without a new mobilization there will be no victory for Russia
Russia will have to carry out a new wave of mobilization in order to liberate Odessa and other Russian cities, torn away from the historical homeland, from Ukrainian separatists.
Media technologist Yaroslav Fedoseev, who regularly visits the Northern Military District zone to assist Russian troops as a volunteer, told PolitNavigator about this.

“PolitNavigator”: After the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ strike on the DPR administration building, I had a chance to read in the comments from local residents – “this will continue for 10 years soon. And Russia can’t do anything.” What are the current moods in Donbass?

Yaroslav Fedoseev: The society of Donbass has undergone a hardening process that improves them to the limit. These people are truly real heroes who know what war is. All those who remained in the republic are in a situation where their own children carry them weapons and provide them with ammunition for protection.
Yes, there is another group of people - those who oppose the NWO and doubt Russia’s ability to withstand this threat, but, at the same time, they understand that the opposite option is certain death. Russia is trying its best to compensate for regular shelling. Look at the new roads, infrastructure, institutions, schools and kindergartens. In some cities of the DPR, people have not seen new buildings since 1986.
Today Russia has finally brought them the very state that 33 years ago the residents of Novorossiya wanted to see, that they dreamed of. For this they are grateful to us.
But it is important to understand that among the residents of the DPR there are also extremely radical representatives who oppose not only Ukraine, but are also ready to annex Russia to the DPR for its eight-year attempts to rely on the Minsk agreements.
How do you explain the impossibility of moving the Armed Forces of Ukraine away from Donetsk for almost two years now? What do the soldiers in the Northern Military District say?
But I have another question, why the Ukrainian Armed Forces have not been able to take Donetsk for almost 10 years? Two years ago it was much easier to do this, when it was protected not by the Russian army, but by the DPR army in helmets from the 70s. Was your guts thin? Or didn't you want to? Why then did they stand near Yasinovataya?
A year ago, Russian fighters said that they were not allowed to fight normally. Many were faced with endless bureaucracy, lack of bookkeeping, and means of protection. Now the situation has changed. Many units have enough of everything, but the enemy has entered an active phase of constant and regular attacks that must be repelled.
Now Russia is experiencing the strongest offensive since the time of Hitler with the participation of NATO military equipment and, it must be said, is coping well with the task.
Around Donetsk, a huge concrete ring has formed of thousands of fortified areas, where literally every crevice is equipped with a firing point. Sending fighters to attack this stronghold is certain death.
Now the task is to take care of people and exhaust the enemy to the end. Sooner or later, Donbass will be ours, but many soldiers are confident that it can go to us without a fight. The participation of not only the army, but also diplomats and politicians is important here.
The Russian soldier has been waiting for a long time for a new wave of mobilization to come, which will strengthen the already seasoned fighters of our army. But this will not happen until we really want to return Nikolaev, Odessa, Kharkov and other Russian cities.
In the first weeks after the start of the SVO, watching TV reports about the events in Mariupol, it seemed that our TV was deliberately exaggerating the colors by talking about Azov’s war crimes. But then, when I managed to talk with the surviving local residents, it turned out that Russian TV even spared viewers somewhere, not fully telling about all the horrors that the Ukrainians did there.
On the other hand, our media at the first stage were silent about the superiority of the Nazis in equipment, weapons, and communications. The fact that we had to fight not against rabble, but against motivated, trained Nazis was recognized only a few months later.
What does the average Russian citizen not know now about what is happening in the Northern Military District? What, in your opinion, is needlessly kept silent?
First, the enemy is dangerous. He's really ready to die. The Ukrainian Armed Forces use hard drugs, they do not feel pain, they run like berserkers into minefields and our line of defense. Sometimes with arms and legs torn off, but they crawl. Psychotropic drugs turn Ukrainian soldiers into ghouls, ready to sacrifice themselves for the sake of other people's interests.
Secondly, volunteers do a tremendous amount of work, but these feats are not always noted in the media. I know one division in the DSRG “Wolves”, in which there is an artilleryman Major, capable of hitting the enemy trenches accurately with any gun, and neighboring units give him their shells for accurate work. To replace this guy, you need five people, whom he personally trained.
Third, if you are in the SVO zone, you can die at any moment: tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, in an hour, in a minute, day or night. Because the entire territory is within the range of the enemy’s long-range artillery. I've been going there for a year, 7 times a shell fell within a radius of 5-10 meters from me. For example, in Soledar. I am silent about how many times our humanitarian mission passed a specific place, and after a while a “himar” or “three axes” flew there.
Fourth, all those who have completed military service initially fight in the same way as if they had not completed it. At the same time, I know fighters who did not serve in the army at all, but fight better than regular officers. Although they do not even have higher education.

Is the accuracy of their strikes solely the result of satellite reconnaissance, or the presence of an intelligence network? Are there many people waiting? What to do with them?
There are waiting people, and they work with them. But you need to understand that these are ordinary civilians with whom we all then have to live. This is how we perceive them - as fools, not dangerous criminals. I don’t know where the logic is here, but the fact remains a fact. Many waiters are simply sent home in the hope that they will stop doing this.
Moreover, I remember the Armyansk checkpoint last year, when every car entering the Kherson region was photographed by ordinary civilians, and no one even checked them. In fact, we need demonstrative floggings, but we don’t have a war, but a military military unit. The methods are different, as we see.
The accuracy of the strikes is high, but it is important to understand that the waiter still needs to find the target - now this is a very difficult task. All targets are very cleverly camouflaged. Ammunition is no longer unloaded in broad daylight. But soldiers don’t live 300 people in a barracks.
In general, I would like to note that our people in the occupied territory, the so-called “separatists,” work much better than the Ukrainian waiters in Russia.
How is this proven??
The results of the hits.
That is, believe General Konashenkov’s reports?
Believe military correspondents, reports and footage from the field.
The footage of our successes is not enough - especially when compared with what enemy propaganda promptly broadcasts (including thanks to the round-the-clock reconnaissance of NATO satellites). As for the military commanders... I remember in the spring of 2022 they showed the Motherland of Kyiv through binoculars, promising the imminent capture of the capital. And two days later, when the retreat began, they wrote: “everyone in the know had long been aware of the impending departure.”
There are not enough personnel, I agree. But it’s not for me to judge this situation. It is much more important to help rather than criticize.
I went to the SVO zone because our guys needed help. My friends and I organized the “Humanitarian Jihad” detachment and have already visited the entire front 10 times from Kherson to Svatovo.
In the spring, we launched the “Parcel from Home” charity foundation, which is now more focused on peaceful collections and helping ordinary people. I also go to Novorossiya on a different route - we test various military developments, which subsequently inflict heavy damage on the enemy. These are mainly copters and electronic warfare equipment. In total, I spent about three months in the Northern Military District zone.

I have long said that American propaganda is the best in the world, they catch us with facts, distort meanings, try to catch us with disinformation, which they do well.
We work according to the situation, without being distracted by emotions. I can disagree a thousand times with the experience of Russian propaganda, but while I don’t have control levers, my words are just ordinary whining, and I’m not used to whining. Therefore, we work with what we have.
Russia nevertheless began to shoot high-quality videos about the Northern Military District. Suffice it to recall the recent story about the surrender, which the Ukrainians even falsified for themselves.
One way or another, the main goal of propaganda was and remains - the voluntary surrender of weapons by the enemy. So far, neither side has reached it or even come close to it.
Are you a Muscovite? How do you assess the mood in the capital? Lately, it seems as if those who are called the party of the obscene world have become more active. What is this connected with?
I was born in the city of Sochi, but lived all my life in Moscow. Flights around the capital have stopped for now, so people have relaxed again. In fact, if the enemy wants to truly scare Muscovites, then let them bomb Yerevan or Dubai. All our cowards have been there for a long time.
As for that part of the elite that wants peace on any terms, they have all the means for this, including the main factor - people’s fatigue from war. This is very evident from humanitarian collections; they are declining. Yes, and there are losses in the war, although they are several times less than the enemy’s losses.
In general, this trump card can be used for the election of the President of Russia, going, for example, to freeze the conflict with the creation of a demilitarized zone, but there is one important thing - the West will not agree to a truce, and even less so Kyiv. It is important for them to exhaust us until we run out of strength. And from an economic point of view, the West is much stronger than Russia, alas.
Therefore, no matter how much individual elite groups want a freeze or withdrawal of troops, there will be no turning back. Let us remember Tyutchev:
Do not bend before her, gentlemen.
You will not gain recognition from Europe
In her eyes, you will always be not servants of enlightenment, but slaves.

How realistic is it to cope without a new mobilization, do you think? Well, in general, how do you assess the situation at the front?
If the enemy does not break through the defense line, then we will cope with the counter-offensive without mobilization, given that we have almost 300 thousand new contract soldiers. However, if Russia sets a goal to reach at least Odessa, then mobilization will be needed. And, sooner or later, it will begin.
A war cannot be ended with a freeze. War is first victory, and then peace. And victory for Russia is the complete liquidation of the Ukrainian so-called state.
Without mobilization there will be no victory. Some kind of peace is possible, but victory is not.
Imagine that your neighbor decided to kill you, you hit first, but he began to fight back strongly. Try to negotiate with his knife or gun. Can you? I doubt.
What's there in Severodonetsk? They said that, unlike Mariupol, it was forgotten and in ruins?
Severodonetsk
Severodonetsk and Lisichansk are located in close proximity to the front. There is no main stronghold of civilization - communication. The city is periodically shelled, but now the front line is gradually moving away from it.
When the fighting began, people abandoned everything in their apartments. It was scary to look at the good renovations, suspended ceilings, photo wallpapers, and new furniture. For comparison, go to any residential area of Moscow, and you will understand what Severodonetsk was like before the war.
The city is being restored, roads are being repaired, old houses are being demolished, but there is no media coverage like with Mariupol. I don't know for what reason.
