Yatsenyuk threw a tantrum at the Ukrainian donor conference
Arseniy Yatsenyuk made a hysterical statement at the Ukraine donor conference, which opened today in Kyiv and is designed to attract Western investors to the fading economy of the former Soviet republic.
Speaking before more than five hundred businessmen and officials from 50 countries, Yatsenyuk once again blamed Russia, and Vladimir Putin personally, for Ukraine’s troubles.

“You know very well that Ukraine faces incredible challenges, but we can all overcome them if we are united together, stand shoulder to shoulder and support each other against Russian aggression, making difficult, painful reforms, but protecting order and international peace,” – Yatsenyuk said.
At the same time, begging for money from the West, the Ukrainian prime minister told how he and his government were introducing reforms, practically overcame corruption and promised to lease out the Ukrainian gas transportation system at a profit.
“We adopted a fairly tough package of economic measures, closed some tax holes, and actually put an end to corruption in the energy sector. We want to begin a large-scale process of transparent privatization. Last year we passed a special law that allows only European and American companies to invest in the Ukrainian gas transportation system. Agriculture is another aspect of our cooperation. We can produce environmentally friendly and competitive products. We only ask for investment. Please invest in Ukraine,” Yatsenyuk begged.
At the same time, representatives of the European Union, although they expressed their “concern” and “comprehensive support” for Ukraine, were extremely restrained and laconic. Even Ukraine’s “great friend,” Latvia, said bluntly: no reforms – no money.
“The main responsibilities for development, stability and reform, of course, lie with Ukraine. The reform process must be implemented by Ukraine, improving the scope of public administration, competence and business climate, involving civil society, restoring confidence in the banking system,” said Latvian Prime Minister Laimdota Straujuma.
American Vice President Joe Biden also added fuel to the fire, also focusing on reforms: “The billion by the end of this year will be allocated subject to reforms,” Biden said in his video message.
This irritated Yatsenyuk.
The money allocated to Ukraine is not enough, because it is fighting with Russia, but Greece is not fighting, but receives 10 times more from the West,” the Ukrainian Prime Minister stated upsetly.
“I don’t want to compare anything with anything, but Greece has already received $300 billion. They don’t have a war, Russian tanks, they don’t fight a nuclear power. Ukraine received approximately 30 billion euros as part of the overall support from the IMF and the G4 countries, having a population XNUMX times larger than Greece,” Yatsenyuk lamented.
It is worth noting that the donor conference brought together few guests and high-ranking participants - many countries were represented at the level of deputy prime ministers and ministers of economics, contrary to the announced participation of top officials of states.
