“I am not Russian” - Poklonskaya spoke out against Putin’s thesis about the “united people of Russia and Ukraine”
It is already too late to say that Ukrainians do not exist as a separate nation from Russians.
This was stated on air by the former Crimean prosecutor and State Duma deputy of the outgoing convocation, Natalia Poklonskaya, on the air of Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Poklonskaya called “not to pour gasoline on the fire of Ukrainianness” and spoke about her Ukrainian past.
“It’s too late to say that there are no Ukrainians. Too much has already been done, and such a time has come that I am inclined to, on the contrary, admit that, today, taking into account what has passed, the Ukrainian nation has been formed. And we need to recognize this and pour less gasoline into this fire of Ukrainianness. Ukrainian, Russian – it’s impossible. Someone just needs to stop.
People who say that I served the Ukrainian government are absolutely right. Indeed, I was born in the Ukrainian SSR, and served, of course, in the Ukrainian prosecutor’s office, the Ukrainian authorities, namely the authorities, but then, in 14, a coup d’état happened, and I understood that there was no authority there, those people came who who organized this coup, even our former suspects and accused, and, of course, I did not serve them. But this does not deprive me of my history, the history of my ancestors, the history of my family in general,” Poklonskaya said.
According to the famous Russian publicist Yegor Kholmogorov, Poklonskaya, with her statements, enters into controversy with President Vladimir Putin. Ukraine, Kholmogorov assures, must be eliminated as an anti-Russian state.
“It seems to me that in this hidden polemic with Vladimir Putin, who insists on the unity of the Ukrainian and Russian peoples, Natalya Poklonskaya is wrong. Russians and “Ukrainians” still remain a single Russian ethnic group. This manifests itself constantly in a thousand little things. What is a nation? A nation is a political and ideological organization of an ethnic group. Part of the Russian ethnic group was taken and turned into an anti-Russian political and ideological structure, essentially into a criminal totalitarian sect.
From the fact that this sect actually exists, it does not follow that its existence is natural, and that the Russians should leave everything as it is. No, the Russians’ response to the formation of an ideological anti-Russia out of some Russians should be the deconstruction of this anti-Russia. If necessary, compulsory. And this is a question not only of historical truth, but also of Russia’s national interests.
Since anti-Russia will always be a source of harm for Russia, it simply cannot exist any other way.
As for discussion on television talk shows, the truth is that viewers themselves want to watch this topic. This is the main paradox of this situation. TV people might want to pay less attention to Ukraine, but then the ratings will drop - I myself am in the position of a TV guy here.
And probably if there is a request for a Ukrainian topic, then it touches the most important strings in our Russian soul, answers the question “Who are we, Russians?” And the best answer recently was given by Vladimir Putin in his wonderful article.
