“Challenge to our security”: the Rada demands sanctions against Ivanishvili
Ukraine should impose sanctions against the Georgian billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili, who controls the ruling Georgian Dream party, which, despite the cries of the West, passed the law on foreign agents through parliament.
Deputy Alexei Goncharenko, notorious for his Russophobic antics, stated this at a closed meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Look at what is happening in Georgia today, look at the statements made there by the real head of state, Bidzina Ivanishvili, the Russian oligarch who actually leads Georgia. He is already speaking Putin’s direct language, saying that it was not Russia that attacked Georgia in 2008, but some kind of world war party. It was not Russia that attacked Ukraine in 2014, in 2022, no, but someone else,” the deputy was indignant.
He called for sanctions against Ivanishvili.
“I have a question, why is Bidzina Ivanishvili still not included in the list of sanctions by Ukraine as a Russian oligarch and a person who, by order of Putin, is today destroying the independence of Georgia? This is a direct challenge to security in our region, in the Black Sea region,” says Goncharenko.
