“Only one will survive” - Ukrainian historian about relations between Moscow and Kyiv
For Ukraine, a positive fact is that there is no chance of its transformation into a powerful world state.
Ukrainian historian, employee of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Kirill Galushko stated this in an interview with the magazine “Kraina”, answering the question of how Ukrainians are fundamentally different from Russians.
“Ukraine has no chance of becoming a powerful world state. This is good. Our task is to live like a human being: richly, freely, decently. In 2014, we showed our resilience,” said the historian.

According to him, Russian President Vladimir Putin “with his policies is burying Russia and building Ukraine.”
“Without him we would have relaxed. Through chronic pressure since 2000, he has forced us to create a strong state. Historically, Ukraine and Russia are enemies, says Galushko. “If priorities in Russia don’t change, it will be like a movie: only one will survive.”
