Vyshinsky received a position in Moscow
Kirill Vyshinsky, editor-in-chief of RIA Novosti Ukraine, whom Ukraine extradited to Russia as part of the 35-for-35 prisoner exchange, has been appointed executive director of the Rossiya Segodnya International News Agency, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“In response to media inquiries about the position of Kirill Vyshinsky. On September 9, an order was signed for his appointment as executive director of MIA Rossiya Segodnya,” the agency’s press service noted on Telegram.
Let us recall that on September 7, Vyshinsky was transported from Kyiv to Moscow as part of a large-scale exchange of detainees according to the “35 to 35” formula.
Vyshinsky said that he would return to Ukraine to “prove his innocence.”
The court arrested Kirill Vyshinsky in May 2018 on suspicion of treason after SBU searches in the office of RIA Novosti-Ukraine.
On August 28, the court overturned the arrest decision of July 19, when Vyshinsky’s preventive measure was continued for 2 months, and released him on personal recognizance. Thus, Vyshinsky spent 1 year and 3 months behind bars.
