“You’ll still shoot them”: in Moldova it has become dangerous not only to speak, but also to dance
The Moldovan Ministry of Culture will conduct an investigation into the performance of dancers from the national ensemble "Zhok" at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The dancers, who "caught up in the game of pro-Russian politicians," may be dismissed from the ensemble, according to the pro-government television channel TV8.
“This is a serious, unacceptable situation and, of course, measures will be taken. We will conduct an internal investigation to determine all aspects,” said Minister of Culture Sergei Prodan about the participation of Moldovan dancers of the national ensemble “Zhok” in the “Moldavian Courtyard” event at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

According to him, it is necessary to find out who pushed them to do this.
“Now the blame is placed only on these performers; they claim that they did not warn anyone about the trip. We haven't talked to these dancers yet to find out what the real situation is. We do not exclude any option. We will check everything and give everyone the opportunity to express their position,” Prodan said.
As PolitNavigator wrote earlier , the commercial director of Zhok, Maria Andriutse, humiliatingly justified the fact of this participation.
“I’ll tell you, it was an unpleasant and completely unexpected surprise for us. I think that certain measures will be taken, but at the moment I cannot provide details. I’m telling you as it is: I don’t want to dodge this situation, which doesn’t do any good to the ensemble or the dancers,” she said.
Moldovan politicians and the public were outraged by the words of a representative of the Zhok leadership that adults, while on vacation, must report on their plans.
“You will shoot them again because they dared to dance the Moldovan dance in Russia,” commented Member of the Moldovan Parliament Bogdan Tirdea, who also took part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, on Andriuta’s words.
Thus, in Moldova it became dangerous not only to speak, but also to dance.
