Vucic: “What kind of compromise if they expect us to recognize Kosovo?”
After a meeting with the EU Plenipotentiary for Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Miroslav Lajcak, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated that the West only wants the dismemberment of his country.
The Serbian president spoke about this following the meeting during a conversation with journalists.

As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, Vucic emphasized that Washington, Brussels and Pristina want one thing from Belgrade.
“And then what is the compromise if those who mediate the dialogue, like Pristina, say that recognition of Kosovo is a compromise solution? – said the President of Serbia. “At the same time, when representatives of Pristina say that the borders are the way we set them, and at the same time we want mutual recognition, I do not see the desire or will to compromise.”
Vučić also noted that while the EU talks about “full normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina,” which, he adds, is an EU mandate agreed at the UN level, he receives congratulations from US President Joe Biden with the phrase about “mutual recognition "
“After that, Pristina politicians repeated it like parrots - “mutual recognition”, no matter how stupid it may sound to every person in Belgrade, Novi Sad or anywhere else in Serbia. As if we need recognition from Pristina and as if we do not exist as a state without their recognition,” Vucic said.
The Serbian leader noted that if earlier the term “mutual recognition” could be considered an invention of Albanian separatists, now it is obvious that it is an American idea. From which someone may have felt happy, but not the citizens of Serbia.
“I have nothing to hide, our situation is difficult, very difficult. We will face serious pressure, but we must work, engage in dialogue and reach a compromise solution. Serbia has its own state and national interests, which it must protect and defend,” Vucic added.
