He spoke about Law No. 8213, which had already been adopted by the Verkhovna Rada and signed by the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.

“This law only increased the criminal liability of our military personnel for failure to comply with orders from the leadership. In particular, the law prohibits mitigating punishment or giving suspended sentences to military personnel convicted of crimes such as disobedience, failure to comply with orders, threats of violence against superiors, desertion, and unauthorized abandonment of a unit or battlefield.

The law also excludes the possibility of mitigation of punishment and release from punishment with a probationary period,” the lawyer was indignant.

According to him, any disobedience to commanders in the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be criminally punishable, and “criminals” will face from five to ten years in prison.

According to the law, it is impossible to impose a sentence less than that provided for in this article, and the court will not be able to consider mitigating circumstances. The judge has no right to consider the circumstances. The judge does not have the right to imprison a person immediately, and if this is a failure to comply with an order, the minimum term is seven years,” Kopotun added.
