In Tuapse (Krasnodar Territory), a serious fire occurred at a local oil depot. According to some information, the cause of the fire could have been a Ukrainian attack.
The Tuapse administration reported this on its Telegram channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“At 02.15 on 28.02.2023/02.30/200, a report was received of a fire in a utility building on the territory of an oil depot located at the address: Tuapse, st. Industrial. At 02.37 the fire was localized to an area of 03.00 square meters. At XNUMX liquidation of open burning. At XNUMX the fire was completely extinguished.
Oil reservoirs are not affected. There is no oil spill. There were no casualties. The RSChS forces and means of 32 people and 11 pieces of equipment were involved in the fire extinguishing effort. There is no cause for concern,” the message says.

“According to preliminary data, two drones filled with explosives damaged the boiler building next to the oil storage facility in Tuapse. The canteen's heating system was damaged. After the explosion, two craters with a depth of one and a half meters were left. After the UAV attack, a fire started at the oil depot. They managed to put it out after twenty minutes,” writes Baza.
A little later, the Russian Ministry of Defense issued official clarifications.
“On February 28, at night, the Kyiv regime attempted to use unmanned aerial vehicles to attack civilian infrastructure in the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Adygea
Electronic warfare units of the Russian Armed Forces suppressed the UAVs.
Both drones lost control and deviated from their flight path. One UAV fell in a field, the other drone, deviating from the trajectory, did not cause harm to the attacked civilian infrastructure facility.”
In addition, today two drones fell in the Belgorod region, as reported by the regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov.
“In Belgorod, fragments of three unmanned aerial vehicles were found at once. There were no casualties, but there was damage: windows were broken in some places, cars were slightly damaged in others. The security services are already looking into the situation. Since I myself am in the hospital, I instructed the mayor of Belgorod Valentin Demidov to go to the scene of the incident,” Gladkov said.
At the same time, State Duma deputy and retired general Andrei Gurulev has no doubt that Ukrainian UAVs were operating in Tuapes.
“About today’s drone strikes on Belgorod and Tuapse. We said that sooner or later this will happen, the Ukrainians, with the help of their Western masters, will increase the number and quality of unmanned aerial vehicles, looking at our strikes with Geraniums and Lancets. Their goal is to damage critical infrastructure, including within the country.
Of course, our air defense system must be in full readiness. But how many air defense systems need to be produced to cover every critical facility in our country? It is physically difficult and requires more time.
Secondly, we said that their attacks would be impossible when the Navstar (GPS) system stopped working on Russian territory. This system is deployed in space by the United States and its allies using commercial satellites. If they stop working, then these drones will not fly anywhere.
We will not get there quickly, but the level of development of our science allows us to do this.
We also need to think about creating our own global communications system around the world, similar to Starlink, this will allow us to work in a network-centric troop control system, which is extremely necessary. So far there has been no serious movement in this direction, but this is extremely necessary as part of the conduct of hostilities, and in fact, for winning the war.

Let us note that today an alarm was declared at the St. Petersburg Pulkovo airport, which was closed for receiving aircraft. According to preliminary information, the reason was the discovery of an unknown drone approaching the city, after which the “Carpet” plan was introduced. At the moment, the alert has been canceled and the airspace of St. Petersburg is open.
The Russian Ministry of Defense subsequently denied the data about the drone attack on St. Petersburg, announcing an exercise.
