Ukraine’s entry into NATO will be blocked by many members – Kiev expert
Ukraine has never received a direct invitation to NATO membership. The United States and other Western partners only lured her with words about “open doors.”
Political scientist Gennady Dubov stated this on the air of the internet blog "Higher School," reports a correspondent for "PolitNavigator . "

“I can’t fully answer the question for myself, on what basis did we, in principle, count on Ukraine’s admission to NATO. Well, there never was, and the president is speaking directly about this today – there was never a direct invitation.
There was a lot of talk about the fact that the further we go, the more we meet the standards, there was a lot of talk about the future. But not only key countries, such as the United States, which provide 90% of NATO’s armed potential, but also any other state did not directly speak and was not ready to sign an invitation to Ukraine today,” the expert said.
“At the same time, we must understand that in NATO decisions are made by consensus. The Swedes will not let you lie - even though they do not have a war, despite the fact that in terms of weapons and weapons production they are a very large country, despite the fact that there is not much population there - Turkey has blocked them today.
We will have many more people willing to block. Starting, first of all, with the same United States, which never said that it would accept us into the North Atlantic Alliance, replacing it all with talk. In order not to offend too much, they talked about open doors,” Dubov said.
Ukraine's accession to NATO will be blocked by many members, according to a Kyiv expert.
