“There is some kind of hypocrisy going on all the time”: The Ukrainian army, instead of modernizing, is painting tanks
The Ukrainian government is wasting time and budgetary funds on primitive window dressing instead of real development of technologies in the military sphere.
Ukrainian military expert and volunteer Yuriy Kasyanov stated this on the ZIK TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We are already in the 5th year of the war. During the same time, in the Second World War, countries created dozens and hundreds of units of various weapons, put ammunition production on stream, mastered completely new weapons, including nuclear ones, mastered rocket artillery and aircraft, built new ships and submarines. And we haven’t completed the construction of some “Bogdan” howitzer, which will take another two or three years to finish, but they are already showing how the greatest achievement is that they built some factories and earned money from trade with Russia. There is some kind of hypocrisy going on all the time. Look what we have? They painted the tanks, put a new sight on them, they say, this is the latest modification,” the volunteer laments.
According to him, Ukraine is hopelessly behind developed countries in all military indicators.
“In four years, even peaceful countries that are not at war have gone far ahead in military development, but we are marking time, moreover, we are retreating back. I’m not talking about the front line, but about the fact that many officers and contract soldiers are now leaving. Why do they quit? Because everyone is sick of this so-called paper war, because the wages do not correspond and they do not see the point in a war that does not end, there are no prospects for its ending and there are no victories,” summed up Yuri Kasyanov.
As a reminder, PolitNavigator previously cited a statement by DPR operational command spokesman Daniil Bezsonov, who stated that the new Bogdana self-propelled howitzer, much-hyped in Ukraine, would be unlikely to fire more than one shot due to its use of older weapons.
