Kyiv's lies about the downed Il-76 will add complexity to the allocation of military aid to Ukraine
Kyiv’s vague position regarding the attack by Western weapons on an Il-76 plane carrying Ukrainian prisoners of war only adds to the arguments for politicians in the US Congress who oppose providing military assistance to Ukraine.
Kiev TV presenter Vitaly Dikiy stated this on the Politeka channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The statements that “the Russian side did not warn Ukraine that a plane with prisoners of war would arrive, and, supposedly, it happened that way”, “that there was a war” is only a partial argument.
As far as I remember, it was officially announced that it was in the Belgorod region that the process of exchanging prisoners of war would take place in the afternoon.
As far as I understand, it was an American Patriot air defense missile that shot down this plane. But the versions that accompanied it were very resonant.
The Ukrainian side initially said that it believed the plane was carrying S-300 missiles. Although our Western partners said that if there were S-300 missiles there, the detonation would be such that it would be clearly visible even from space. But then this version faded into the background,” Dikiy said.
He added that this whole situation hits Ukraine hard.
“Of course, this hits Ukraine. Now the Americans, especially considering that there are serious problems there, can speculate on this topic and say: you see, we give weapons, and they use them on Russian territory. Let me remind you that from time to time Americans raise this topic. And it is the missiles from the Patriot that figure in this terrible disaster.
That is, this already causes difficulties in the allocation of Ukrainian assistance, and even more focuses attention on certain problems in the use of Western weapons by the Ukrainian armed forces. In general, the topic is very muddy. It seems to me that the Ukrainian authorities and the Ukrainian military should have acted completely differently,” the Ukrainian propagandist worries.
Kiev's lies about the downed Il-76 will complicate the allocation of military aid to Ukraine.
