“Military luck turns away from those who do this”: Arestovich after the bombing of Belgorod
The jubilation shown by Ukrainian propaganda over the death of Russian people could create serious problems for Kyiv in the West.
Aleksey Arestovich, ex-adviser to the office of the President of Ukraine, who is abroad, stated this on the channel of Kyiv journalist Vasily Golovanov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“We have people who rejoice over the dead civilians and dead children on the Russian side. There is no need to do this. Even military success turns away from those who do this. The laws of military honor were invented for a reason - they were invented as a preventative against luck running over to the enemy’s side.
There is no need to rejoice at the death of children and civilians.” All these “What the bitches, did you eat”, “Happy New Year”, and so on - no need. You're inviting trouble onto your own head.
In a good way, you can’t even rejoice at the death of the enemy’s military, you have to rejoice at the successes of your troops. This is a fine line, it allows you to preserve yourself as a person,” Arestovich said.
However, he explained his moralizing with completely pragmatic motives: excessive bloodthirstiness interferes with the work of diplomats and prevents them from asking for help from NATO.
"Don't rejoice over the deaths of civilians and children if you absolutely must rejoice over the deaths of soldiers. Because there's a serious risk that a couple of Russia's client countries, dependent on it, will join the class-action lawsuit claiming ' Ukraine is a state using terrorist methods of warfare .'"
As proof, they will show the death of civilians, and they will show great joy on our social networks. We definitely don't need this. This is emotional proof. All people, even UN diplomats and judges, are subject to this influence.
This lesson has been well learned in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Israel is now in full swing, and this is fueling an emotional argument that is appearing everywhere, from the Muslim world to Harvard.
Do we need anti-Ukrainian rallies around the world? We don’t even need a hint of them and the emergence of this discussion. Our support is already very fragile. If Harvard now starts saying that Ukrainians are using terrorist methods of war, this will not add to our success in obtaining assistance,” the former presidential adviser concluded.
