Water blockade: The situation in Crimea is getting worse
Following the Simferopol and Bakhchisaray districts, the Southern Coast of Crimea is also introducing water supply restrictions. Starting September 23, water supply will be restricted at night from 23:00 PM to 5:00 AM. Galina Ogneva, head of the Alushta administration, announced this in her blog, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the official, this is due to the low water level in the Izobilnenskoye reservoir that supplies the region.

“We are introducing restrictive water supply measures in Alushta, Partenit and Maly Mayak. Namely, at night from 23.00 to 05.00 the pressure in the water supply system will be reduced. There will be water, but it will flow under low pressure. This is a temporary measure, but it will help save money and prevent a situation of complete lack of water. There is a small volume left in the Izobilnenskoye reservoir, which will only last until December. Reducing pressure means saving at least 10 thousand cubic meters per day - this is a guarantee that even without precipitation, water will be in the taps of houses and apartments until April next year,” Ogneva said.
As a reminder, due to drought and the Ukrainian blockade in Crimea, the reservoirs that fed the Simferopol and Bakhchisaray districts , including the cities, dried up. Authorities were forced to restrict water supplies and introduce schedules , as well as urgently organize water transfers from other sources.
