The US decision to allow Kyiv to launch strikes with Western weapons deep into Russian territory was made too late.
This was stated on the Lviv television channel NTA by former adviser to the head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), former Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Bandera-led All-Ukrainian Union "Svoboda" Yuriy Mikhalchyshyn , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
He commented on the words of the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, that the Americans had already made such a decision.
" Russia, through its operational positions, can gain insight into decision-making in Washington . Unfortunately, democratic states are more vulnerable and open to intelligence work than authoritarian or totalitarian ones, like Russia, where it's significantly more difficult to penetrate decision-making centers. Therefore, the Russians may have this information, and Peskov may not be bluffing," Mikhalchishin said.
However, he lamented that the decision was made too late.
"At the same time, this changes nothing. It must be understood that such decisions, from the perspective of Ukraine's national interests, are being made with a significant delay. Their impact on the operational situation would have been much greater in the summer or spring, when the Russians were making a critical advance in the southern sectors of the Donetsk front . Such a decision could have simply disrupted the spring offensive, blocked their advance, disrupted logistics, and forced the Russian command to alter its operational plans.
"The timing of such a decision could have seriously impacted the configuration of the LBS, which, unfortunately, changed to our disadvantage during the Russian offensive . Now, if this decision is being made in the twilight of the Biden administration, we must understand that it will be a very delayed one, unfortunately ," the Nazi explained.
