In Lviv, a “revolt of tram workers”: “We asked for a salary from the mayor, but they told us to read the Bible”
Lviv, February 02 (PolitNavigator, Alexandra Ignatieva) – In the center of Lviv, workers of the tram depot staged a picket of the city council, demanding to pay them wages, which they have not seen since November.

As reported by the ZiK television channel , depot workers previously prepared an appeal to city authorities demanding that the debt repayment issue be resolved by January 29. They even met with city council representatives, who were once promised full payment, but never received it.
“We have been owed money since November. Nobody understands that we also have rent and no loans. How will this be paid? When we start to rebel, they will give us some part, and then again there is no money for several months. They also don’t allocate any funds for spare parts. Trams and trolleybuses are simply in terrible condition,” said tram driver Yaroslav Moskal.
“Not only do we work seven days a week, but we also don’t get paid for our work. They'll give you some and that's it - again three months without money. And this has been going on for years. We already went on strike once - we didn’t leave the park. We went to Sadovoy to resolve this issue, and there they advised me to read the Bible,” another depot worker was indignant, the publication quotes her.
But the “revolt of tram workers” ended as expected: the head of the housing department of the Lviv City Council, Yuriy Golets, came to them and assured that in the near future part of the debt would appear in the accounts of Lvoelectrotrans employees.
