France admits Le Pen can win in second round
The victory of the National Front candidate Marine Le Pen in the presidential elections in France does not seem to be the most likely scenario, but it is possible.

French political expert Guillaume Bernard expressed this opinion in an interview with Le Figaro newspaper , noting that Marine Le Pen is currently predicted to lose in the second round, regardless of her opponent.
“Be that as it may, I would not say that the National Front candidate has no chance against Emmanuel Macron, since they are the complete opposite of each other. In some ways, this is reminiscent of the Trump-Clinton fight. The right-wing electorate, which stands for sovereignty and against multiculturalism, can support Marine Le Pen. As for left-wing voters, they may not like the liberalism of Emmanuel Macron, but for the most part they are still unlikely to support Le Pen and would rather prefer to abstain,” the publication’s interlocutor noted.
However, he says that there is no guarantee that Macron will reach the second round.
“Although his rating is approximately equal to that of François Fillon, the confidence that all potential voters will actually support him is much less than in the case of the Republican candidate.” That is, he looks like an excellent candidate in the second round, but his results in the first are questionable. In any case, for Marine Le Pen to win, she needs to increase her lead over the rest in the first round. She needs to create such dynamics that the opponent in the second round simply cannot catch up. Ultimately, in the current situation, a victory for Marine Le Pen, of course, does not seem to be the most likely scenario, but it is still possible,” the expert does not rule out.
It is worth noting that Marine Le Pen confirmed her plans to recognize Crimea as Russian and lift anti-Russian sanctions if she wins the election.
