Ukraine's accession to the EU is hampered by agricultural magnates, whom they do not want to see on the European market.
This was stated on Radio NV by former Verkhovna Rada deputy, commander of the Dnepr battalion, who has been participating in the punitive operation in Donbass since 2014, and current farmer Yuri Bereza, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We took the road of increasing [farms], and today we have a lot of land barons who have ten thousand or more hectares of land. While the average for EU countries is 200-300 hectares of land for farming.
And if we are going to the EU, and the majority of the population supports it, then the most important factor that will hinder us is the large land barons. Because all EU agriculture lives on subsidies.
And cholera, which has 50-60 thousand hectares of land, will receive the largest subsidies. The Europeans immediately said that this would not happen,” Bereza said.
He emphasized that residents of other EU countries will follow the Poles in anti-Ukrainian protests.
“Russia is now taking advantage of this moment. But for us this is a reason to think. Because all EU countries will follow Polish farmers. They will say: “Why should we feed your oligarchs?” he concluded.
