The Montenegrin authorities do not consider the Z symbol criminal. The Ukrainian Embassy threw a tantrum

The police and prosecutor's office of Montenegro do not see anything illegal in the use of the Z symbol in public space.

Law enforcement officers announced this after a patriotic rally in Podgorica, where the Russian flag with the Z symbol on it was unfurled, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

In response, the Ukrainian Embassy in Montenegro demanded that the authorities of this country “not allow provocations aimed at justifying Russian crimes.”

Last Saturday, in the center of Podgorica, on the banks of the Moraca River, more than a hundred patriotic residents of the capital of Montenegro gathered for a rally in support of “Serbian Kosovo.” In addition to the national flags of Montenegro, at the rally there were flags of Serbia, Russia (including one large one with the Z symbol) and the Donetsk People's Republic. One of the banners bore the slogan “Pray to God, stick to Russia!” The organizers of the rally are still unknown.

Montenegro's police department said its officers "enforced an unannounced public meeting" after learning from social media that it would take place. The police noted that there was no violation of public order or peace during the rally.

“Regarding the meeting in question and the flag of the Russian Federation raised at it, on which the letter Z was depicted, police officers informed the Chief Prosecutor’s Office of Podgorica, which stated that there were no elements of a crime in the said event,” the Montenegrin police noted.

Despite this, on February 13, the Ukrainian Embassy in Podgorica released a statement in which it demanded that the Montenegrin authorities “not allow provocations aimed at justifying Russian crimes.”

“Any attempts to justify Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine and incitement of national hatred towards Ukrainians are unacceptable and unacceptable in modern civilized European society,” the Ukrainian Embassy said in a statement.

The Montenegrin law enforcement agencies did not react to it in any way, apparently considering that all the necessary information on this matter had already been made public. The only interesting thing is when the Montenegrin Foreign Ministry will get tired of the impudence of Ukrainian diplomats and their attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of the host country.

As PolitNavigator reported , following a statement from the Ukrainian Embassy in Montenegro, the owner and waiters of the Russian Bar in Podgorica, where the staff wears T-shirts with the letter Z, were summoned for questioning by the police.
