“Regional” Anatoly Mogilev tried to disrupt the vote of the Supreme Council of Crimea for a referendum on reunification with Russia and even offered Kiev a mechanism for arresting pro-Russian deputies, but Alexander Turchynov, who seized power in the Ukrainian capital, turned out to be incapable of decisive action.

Former Verkhovna Rada deputy and participant in the punitive operation in Donbas, Igor Mosiychuk, stated this on air on the video blog "Yes, That's True," reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Mosiychuk, the introduction of the ATO in Simferopol was demanded by the prime minister of the republic at that time, the former Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the government of Mykola Azarov, Anatoly Mogilev.

"I dare to assert two things. First, the then-leader of Crimea, Mr. Mogilev, bribed the deputies of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea the first time, so they wouldn't vote on the separatist resolution . He then had a direct conversation with Oleksandr Turchynov, demanding the introduction of an anti-terrorist operation in Simferopol so he could arrest this rabble , but no one gave it to him.

The second point is whether we could have started resistance in Crimea? Yes, they could - there were no “little green men” there in the first days, and the passes were all controlled by our military, the guys with whom I was in touch. And it was possible, again, to make a truly demonstrative trip to Crimea and show that no one is afraid of anyone. But no one agreed to this,” Mosiychuk laments.
