Kyiv, October 28 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – On the Day of Liberation from the Nazi Invaders celebrated in Ukraine today, President Poroshenko laid flowers to those who died during the war, but not specifically to the liberators of Ukraine.

This is evidenced by the inscription on the presidential wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Kiev Park of Eternal Glory. There is no mention of the liberators on the wreath, but only the inscription “To those who died during the war from the Ukrainian people.” Who is meant by the dead - Soviet soldiers, Nazi soldiers or civilians - is not specified.
At the same time, the wreaths laid by activists of the “Ukrainian Choice” and the Communist Party speak specifically about the liberation of Ukraine from the Nazi invaders.
However, in President Poroshenko's official address to citizens on the occasion of the holiday, as PolitNavigator previously reported, the word "liberation" was mentioned, but the outstanding role of the UPA was also mentioned, and Ukraine was called "an arena for the games of two totalitarian regimes . "
