Márton Göngyösi, deputy head of the Hungarian Nationalist Party, stated, according to the official website , that ethnic Hungarians should not be involved in the conflict in Donbas and that it is not their conflict. Márton Göngyösi called the Kyiv government "Atlanticist" and "puppet" and called on ethnic Hungarians not to participate in the civil war between this government and the rebels in Donbas. "The Hungarian community has nothing to do with this conflict," he stated.
In addition, Márton Göngösi called on the only ethnic Hungarian in the Ukrainian parliament, László Brencowicz (a member of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction), to start acting against the call of ethnic Hungarians. The Jobbik movement for a better Hungary finds it surprising that the Hungarian MP has still not done anything on this issue and allowed Hungarians from the ethnic community to be mobilized into the Ukrainian army.
