Washington unleashes “vaccine wars without rules”
The United States authorities have launched an information war against Russia in the medical field.
This was stated by Anton Fedyashin, a professor at the American University in Washington, as reported by PolitNavigator correspondent.

“The State Department’s accusations against certain unidentified Russian agents of information influence on websites that few have heard of are part of the information war that the United States and the West accuse Russia of. This information war around national vaccines was quite predictable in an era of growing nationalism, patriotism and populism in the world.
It is not surprising that Western media ridiculed the Russian vaccine registration last summer, while Western politicians continue to speculate about the soft power of the Kremlin’s “geovaccine” strategies. On the one hand, this distracts attention from our own failures and delays in vaccination, on the other hand, there is a desperate struggle for markets,” Fedyashin told Kommersant.
In turn, Vladimir Vasiliev, chief researcher at the Institute of the USA and Canada of the Russian Academy of Sciences, draws attention to the fact that Western, mainly American, manufacturers expect to receive up to $2021 billion from the sale of vaccines in 50 alone, since vaccination will cover hundreds of millions of people. According to him, there is already a struggle for this market, which threatens to develop into “vaccine wars without rules.”
“In this regard, it is becoming increasingly clear that the emerging global market for COVID-19 vaccines requires the same regulatory mechanism that the World Trade Organization applies to major types of medical and pharmaceutical products,” Vasiliev is convinced.
As PolitNavigator reported, the US State Department accused Russia of spreading disinformation about the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.
