Western countries do not benefit from the high-tech and industrial development of Ukraine, and therefore should not expect investments in the corresponding sectors of the Ukrainian economy.

Former Ukrainian Economy Minister Viktor Suslov stated this on the NewsOne television channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The question arises: why does the West need Ukraine? It is clear that the same Yuzhmash, I think, will need to be finished off, because potentially the West does not need it, it should not supply Russia with anything and does not supply it anymore. Little by little, the entire military-industrial complex in Ukraine will be finished off. Well, maybe some part will remain that is not very high-tech,” the economist noted.
He is convinced that the West does not need a developed Ukraine and recalled the words of the American ambassador in Kyiv Jeffrey Pyatt, who said that the United States sees “Ukraine as an agricultural superpower.”
“Goodbye, Ukrainians, your task is to plow and sow, but not to develop industry. It is clear why there will be no investments in high-tech areas, because neither Europe nor the United States needs competition from developed Ukraine. But once upon a time, Ukraine was highly competitive precisely in high-tech industries - aircraft manufacturing, space, and so on,” Suslov recalled.
