Vakarchuk calls on Ukrainians to help the families of ATO militants
On the eve of the day of the so-called unity of Ukraine, the group “Okean Elzy” will give a charity concert to support ATO soldiers.
The leader of the Okean Elzy group stated this during a video message posted on the group’s official YouTube channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I, Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, with great joy invite you to a charity concert, which together with the Okean Elzy group and the Kyiv Soloists orchestra we will hold on January 21 at the National Kyiv Opera. The idea of such a charity concert was born recently when we held a similar event in Vilnius, playing a concert in a local church with the chamber orchestra named after St. Christopher. Then all the money collected was transferred to help orphans from the East of Ukraine,” Vakarchuk noted.
He also stated that he wants to repeat a similar concert in Kyiv, but on a larger scale.
“And it seems to me that it would be right and fair if the money raised during the concert were transferred to the families of our fallen defenders. They are left with children who feel like orphans, who really need our material and moral help. It seems to me that it would be right for all of us, regardless of political views, to put aside the election fever and other things that really distract us every day, and focus on the main thing: on concrete, effective help to those who really need it. We have a chance to show that important things unite. I really, really hope for your support and look forward to seeing you on January 21 at the National Kyiv Opera,” concluded Vakarchuk.
