This was reported by the publication “Zhitomir.info” with reference to eyewitnesses.
“We were supposed to have a congress today. Our guys from all over the region gathered, because today in Ukraine only 4 regions do not officially have a Right Sector organization. We first sat on Korolev Square, and then decided to go to our headquarters, which is located in the building where the BTI is located. When the doors opened and several people entered the headquarters, we saw that there were already people there in camouflage and with weapons. Then we heard machine gun fire. After that, a lot of police arrived. Now the building is cordoned off, and our guys are taken hostage,” said Right Sector activists.
They also reported that they were shooting upwards and there seemed to be no casualties. Now traffic around the cordoned off building is completely blocked. In the courtyard of the building there is a group of special police forces with machine guns.
“There are people from the Right Sector in the BTI building, we are blocking them. I can’t say anything more specifically,” commented the head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Zhytomyr region, Yuriy Demyanenko, who is at the scene of the event.
