In Zaporozhye, a drunk tractor driver knocked down an electrical pole transmitting electricity to the Donbass

In the suburbs of Tokmak in the Zaporozhye region, at about three o’clock in the morning, a drunk tractor driver fell asleep while driving and knocked over a support of the 750 kV line “AS-Yuzhnodonbasskaya” with a tractor. The support supplied electricity to the Donbass, in particular to Mariupol.

This was reported by the press service of the Dnieper Energy System of the State Enterprise “NEK “Ukrenergo”.

“On the night from Saturday to Sunday, a tractor driver, while performing agricultural work, fell asleep and rammed a high-voltage power line support. According to a representative of the energy company, this did not affect the receipt of electricity by consumers. But the damage caused to the enterprise itself is significant,” the message says.

As Vladimir Granovsky, an employee of the press service of the enterprise, said, today the necessary equipment for dismantling the support will already arrive from Southern Energy Systems. They will begin installing it around Thursday, August 25th.
