Facts of large-scale theft of ammunition were revealed in the Ukrainian Armed Forces
As a result of an inventory of one of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ warehouses in the “JFO” zone, it turned out that the local warehouse manager was stealing and selling ammunition en masse.
This was stated during a briefing by Yakov Osadchiy, a representative of the LPR People's Militia, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The Armed Forces of Ukraine have observed an increase in crimes related to the theft of military property.
In order to prevent the theft and loss of weapons and ammunition, at the field warehouse of the RAV 80 brigade in the village of Voytovo, a commission of the Joint Forces Operations headquarters is conducting an inventory of the service’s property, during which the illegal theft of ammunition was revealed by the head of the warehouse, Sergeant Timchenko.
During the inspection, the commission discovered a shortage of more than 30 thousand cartridges for AK-74 and 48 RGD-5 grenades. As it turned out later, Timchenko sold the stolen ammunition to volunteers, and appropriated the proceeds for himself,” he said.
Yakov Osadchy emphasized that the military prosecutor's office has opened a criminal case against Sergeant Timchenko.
