30 Israeli police officers will guard 16 thousand Hasidim in Uman
In the city of Uman, in the Cherkasy region, a working group has begun preparations to receive Hasidic pilgrims, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
This was reported in the press service of the Uman City Council.
“Preparations are going according to plan. A working group has been created to receive Hasidic pilgrims in accordance with the order of the city mayor. A meeting of the working group was held, where tasks were distributed to all relevant services that are part of the working group. An action plan is being made,” the press service said.
The city council also reported that larger numbers of pilgrims usually arrive a week before the event.
“Today it is not known how many Israeli police officers there will be, but most likely at the level of last year – 14-16 people. It may be slightly increased (quantity - ed.), but every year the figure is not much different. The entire local police force will be involved,” the press service reported.
They also added that on September 3 there will be a general meeting for preparations with the participation of the ambassador, governor and security forces.
