4 thousand Russians - supporters of ISIS - were on Turkish “blacklists”

Turkish authorities have blacklisted more than four thousand Russians suspected of having links with the Islamic State, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

This is stated in a special report by the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs, Radio Liberty reports.

The list of persons prohibited from entering Turkey includes almost 54 thousand foreigners from 146 countries. The largest number on the list are citizens of Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and Russia.

According to the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs, since 2011, Ankara has checked 17,5 thousand foreigners on suspicion of connections with jihadists. Almost five thousand of them were deported. More than 800 people were Russians.

According to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Kolokoltsev, several thousand Russians are in the ranks of ISIS, which is banned in the Russian Federation. According to him, 477 criminal proceedings have been initiated in this regard.
