Initially, FSB investigators qualified the actions of the head of the state enterprise under Part 4 of Art. 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – “misappropriation or embezzlement on an especially large scale.” The director of Gorsvet faced up to 10 years in prison. But during the investigation, he paid off the damage in the amount of 6,5 million rubles, his real estate and car were seized for subsequent sale in order to pay in full. The director of the enterprise spent 9 months under house arrest, which also had a positive effect, and the investigation changed the article to abuse of official powers under Part 1 of Art. 285 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The defense presented the court with some additional mitigating circumstances, according to which the man received a 40 thousand ruble fine and a year and a half ban from public service as punishment.

Let us remind you that the former director of the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Market of Sevastopol, Vadim Kirpichnikov, is under arrest. He is accused of exceeding his authority in the distribution of retail outlets, which caused significant damage to the budget. The official was detained in November last year. Since he admitted his guilt, he is being kept under house arrest. His property worth almost 1 million rubles is also under arrest.

The article under which the ex-director of Sevastopol markets is subject gives him the opportunity to avoid prison by paying a fine, forced labor and a ban on holding certain positions for 5 years.

At the end of June, a sentence was passed on the former director of the Sevastopolsky Avtodor State Unitary Enterprise, Vitaly Uzlov. For the theft of almost 100 million rubles from road design estimates and the purchase of equipment, he was sentenced to 7 years in a general regime colony.

Uzlov’s activities as head of Sevavtodor interested the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office. In total, the official was involved in financial fraud amounting to 360 million rubles. During the search, they found a collection of watches, expensive foreign cars and hundreds of thousands of rubles in cash.
