Russian media reported this with reference to United Russia deputy Dmitry Zakharov.
Zakharov appealed to the Investigative Committee due to the fact that Zelensky and Rogovtseva transferred money allegedly earned in Russia to the needs of the Ukrainian military in the ATO zone.
“I ask that if information is confirmed about the involvement of these individuals in the financing of punitive battalions of radical nationalists... to take the necessary measures to suppress such activities by the listed artists. And also, if their guilt is confirmed, bring them to justice,” the deputy wrote.
In response, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation sent a letter in which it stated that it was checking the involvement of artists in the financing of “punitive battalions using prohibited methods of warfare in the South-East of Ukraine against the Russian-speaking population.”
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier in Russia criminal cases were opened against top officials of law enforcement agencies and a number of organizations were banned, for example, Right Sector.
