“On the Russian side, on the part of Gazprom, Ukrainian partners were invited to consider the possibility of signing a settlement agreement,” Novak said.

According to him, the resolution of legal disputes between Gazprom and Naftogaz is one of the most important points for achieving common agreements between Russia and Ukraine on gas.

Alexander Novak also told reporters about the negotiations that had taken place with the Deputy Chairman of the European Commission for Energy Union Affairs, Maros Sefcovic, during which the parties discussed transit through Ukraine and gas supplies to it.

“And in general, we confirmed to the European Commission, Mr. Šefčović, that Russia takes a constructive position here, is ready to ensure and continue the transit of gas through Ukraine, to ensure supplies to European consumers,” Novak noted.

Earlier it became known that Gazprom would challenge the seizure of its assets in Luxembourg at the request of Ukraine.
