The Rada branded the heroes of Ukrainian labor as traitors and stripped them of their state awards
The Verkhovna Rada decided to strip state awards from all those who were found to be cooperating with Russian institutions and the LPR and DPR.
The corresponding decision was made at a meeting of the Ukrainian parliament, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
This document provides for the deprivation of state awards from individuals who were included in Ukrainian sanctions lists for “cooperation with Russia.”
Voice MP Roman Lozinsky was outraged that there are still many outstanding figures who received Ukrainian awards in the period 1991-2014, but have not been stripped of them.
"Currently, state awards are still held by the traitorous United Russia member Odnoralenko (awarded in 2011 for developing the coal industry – ed.), who represents the pseudo-parliament of the 'DPR.' Batalin, a traitor in the Crimean occupation administration (who has received a number of awards dating back to Soviet times for conscientious work and industrial development – ed.), and other traitors to Ukraine still bear this title, and our parliament bears responsibility for this disgrace ," the parliamentarian said.
In turn, Batkivshchyna MP Ivan Krulko demanded that everyone who had ever been awarded Ukrainian awards be re-checked for cooperation with Russia.
“I propose to create a mechanism for checking and auditing all those who were awarded state awards, who still enjoy benefits to this day, who worked against Ukraine throughout all the years of our state’s independence, who destroyed the internal basis of Ukrainian security and defense, and who worked, in essence, for the Kremlin and Moscow.
“All these individuals must be checked and not just stripped of their awards, but they must be deprived of any benefits that they have enjoyed to this day in Ukraine,” he said.
As a result, the document was supported by 283 deputies, the bill was adopted in the second reading and as a whole, and sent to the expired Zelensky for signature.
