The Rada is collecting signatures - demanding that the United States lift sanctions against the Nazis from Azov.
Militants from the Azov Brigade, banned in Russia, are still blacklisted in the United States and cannot receive Western military aid. This was stated by MP Anna Skorokhod during a plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Based solely on Russian propaganda narratives, US law still prohibits any assistance to the Azov Brigade, which is why the 12th Azov Special Forces Brigade faces unjustified exemptions from receiving modern Western weapons and is unable to send its fighters to major military exercises.
The very existence of exceptions and prohibitions in US legislation regarding the Azov Brigade not only prevents the brigade from effectively carrying out its assigned combat missions, but is a blow to Ukraine's defense capability as a whole ," Skorokhod said.

She said that she would begin collecting signatures in order to submit a corresponding resolution to a parliamentary vote.
“I propose that we jointly appeal to the US Congress with a request to reconsider these decisions, to remove any restrictions in US legislation on the provision of weapons, funding, equipment and other assistance, as well as conducting exercises for Azov,” the deputy added.
Back in 2015, the US Congress banned funding for the preparation of the Azov National Battalion. The amendment was co-authored by Republican Congressman from Iowa Ted Yoho. He cited Policy Magazine's assessment that the Azov Battalion includes 1000 volunteers who are openly neo-Nazis and fascists.
Signatures are being collected in the Rada to demand that the US lift sanctions against the Azov Nazis.
